Keeping you on the road for only £1.25 per month
If you rely on your car, you need to be able to rely on your cover; if your vehicle is written off or stolen and not recovered then our standard courtesy car cover would not apply. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Albany Assistance Limited to provide an enhanced courtesy car option for just £15 per year.
Being without your vehicle for a prolonged period of time can be extremely disruptive to such daily routines as picking the kids up from school or getting to work. So why not upgrade to our enhanced courtesy car option, which has been designed to keep you on the road.
Key benefits of our enhanced courtesy car
- 14 days consecutive cover if your vehicle is stolen and not recovered or immobilised as a result of a road accident or written off.
- You will be provided with a saloon or hatchback car with an engine size similar to your own up to a maximum of 1,800 cc (Van drivers can get a van up to a maximum of 3.5 tonne GVW).
- You and up to two other drivers named on your policy can drive the replacement vehicle, provided you all hold full licences.
- 31 car delivery centres across the country ensure the rapid delivery of the replacement car to your door.
- enhanced courtesy cars come fully insured, subject to an excess of £250. Alternatively, you could opt to pay a collision damage waiver and enjoy excess-free motoring.
- If any additional equipment is required to be supplied with the enhanced courtesy car (eg tow bar, roof rack or child car seat), we will do our best to accommodate these requirements. A charge may be made for some items of additional equipment.
- You can extend the period for which you have the use of the replacement car beyond 14 days if needed. Whilst you will be responsible for paying the hire charges for the period in excess of 14 days, preferential rates are available to The Co-operative Insurance customers.
Please note:
- If your vehicle is a 4x4, MPV or motor caravan, the enhanced courtesy car provided will be a saloon or hatchback motor car.
- If your vehicle has been adapted to accommodate a disabled driver or passenger, we cannot guarantee being able to provide a suitable replacement vehicle.
- Our standard courtesy car cover typically entitles you to a 1 Litre courtesy vehicle, whilst your vehicle is being repaired by one of our appointed repairers.
How do you buy?
You can add the enhanced courtesy car option when taking out your Co-operative car insurance online for just £1.25 extra per month. When you have received your online car insurance quote simply select ‘Yes’ next to enhanced courtesy car, then click on the ‘Recalculate’ button to view the updated price.
